Higher Levels?
I know It has probably been on topic a million times.
I know ANet has a special system for skills-attributes-level.
I know, I know, I know.
But still. I've been thinking of this quite some time now. People playing WoW and other online games hate the Guild Wars low max-level. 20 levels is just not enough against WoW's 60 (70) and Tibias unlimited.
Here's my idea:
The first 20 levels will be just as they are now, giving attribute points which can increase the damage of skills etc.
The higher levels (20+) will only give a skill point, as it does now. Simply, there will be no need for any change in the game (except maybe some higher levels on monsters, or maybe even a new area with monsters in lvl 30+)
This will help ANet and Guild Wars players world wide in the following ways:
- More people will play GW since the max level could be increased to level 30-40
-More gaming hours and less people getting tired of the game so fast.
-People who look for proper people for their teams would have less chance to get a noob in the team.
This may cause trouble for ANet/Players in the following ways:
-The monster levels will be very low and players may even get higher level than the worst monsters.
-The Legendary Survivor title might need a change, or they will just put levels up to that amount of XP.
What do you think of this theory? My apologizes if I have gone too far with this...

A higher level gives you more damage vs armor, you know that? I really think guild wars needs more grinding for power, not these stupid titles and sunspear points that just make you look cool but do nothing useful or practical.

It would be a good day when Guild Wars gets rid of levels completely. But I guess this level 20 cap is good enough meanwhile.

Thats the reason those people are playing WoW and not GuildWars.

GuildWars isnt trying to compete against WoW's lvl 60 (70) limit.
WoW is one game GuildWars is a different game.

If the only thing that you get after lvl 20 is skill points and the number next to your name goes higher then 20 , then there is no need to change monsters as you would still be doing same damage at lvl 40 as you would lvl 20.

Not really people hate to grind, and when we all reach lvl 40 then what? Then we'll ask to for the lvl cap to be raised to 60

More time trying to get max ,more time to get frustrated because you cant get it.

A noob is a noob at lvl 1 or at lvl 20 or at lvl 40 , this does not change, a noob is a idiot that doesnt want to learn ,isnt open to suggestions and simply think everyone is an idiot and they are the ultimate god.Meaning nobody has anything to tell them.
A newb on the other hand is simply a new player that learns and ask advice so he can be more experienced.

No like you said above and i replied to it, if the only thing that changes is the number next to your name then ,monsters dont have to be changed.
GuildWars is perfect at its lvl 20 like it is, you dont need to waste a lifetime to be at the same lvl as people that have been playing for a year or more. The reason why its like that is because even a new player could theoretcly win against a "pro" player.
May i ask i question,
Are you one of those WoW players that you are reffering to that hate the lvl 20 cap?

As long as it doesnt give you anymore armor, damage, attributes, etc. Just kinda like bragging rights.

No it's completely Silly.
I'm a Guild wars player Through and Through but simly having a cap such as
LVL 20 isnt cutting it anymore. I reckon lvl 30 is the big kahuna and that should be only hightening the bar. In no circumstance should the lvl cap be anymore than 30 otherwise the game becomes repetitive and boring.
But please take into account. There are at least 3000+ quests throughout the series. There are enough quests to reach lvl 50...Anyone else seeing this point?

Grind sucks. If people want to be playing WoW they should be playing WoW. Personally I'd rather be playing GW.

Fugeddaboutit. As an earlier poster said, they should simply do away with level altogether if they can, but they do make a good training progress guide imo. Once you hit 20, levels don't matter. Period.
Well, exception being when you face that group of level 28's... you know it just might hurt...
/not signed, now or ever.
[Edit] - random firing of neurons... instead of levels, have a title that increments every {n} million experience points after level 20, with no cap and no relevance to KoaBD. This I could stomach. You don't even have to show it or see it, plus it doesn't affect the game.

Based on what was originally said. Why the **** would it matter? All it means is you've done more quests on that character. Not nessesarily even that if you just run around killing stuff (which is fun though...). I see no real reason to do it. If you wanted it like that heres my recommendation (Note: I am a very "odd" person)
For levels 1-20: keep as normal
for levels 21+ : Add +5 HP (as opposed to 20) and add +1 energy.
-Blackwood
Edit: I'm not saying I think that would be good, I'm just saying that would make more sense. I agree with MSecorsky

So lvl 20 is GW max level... That doesn't mean it is less than a lvl 60 in WoW... It just means than one GW-level is worth 3 WoW levels ^^
Ok... just joking...
There is no need to create more levels... instead of having a nice "Level 20" in your green bar, you will have a "Level 30"... OMG ! That's what I call a feature !!!!
That's something nice in GW : you don't need to grind... never ! to be top perfect... YOUR skills count, not the time you lost grinding and farming monsters...
You feel tierd because you don't have any more level to win ? Make a new character...
/not signed (of course)
but I agree with MSecorsky : a title would be for high experienced character. Not to show "l33tn3ss", but to have the feeling you're still climbing some ladder.

This game is not about level, theres a reasons I dont play WoW/ FF11 and those other games, you have to grind for levels. This game is about skill, not level or time spent playing.

i dont recall seeing the words "World Of Warcraft" inscribed on the top of the game box when i purchased it.
this isnt WoW...and i consider that a good thing.
and then lets consider that a farming character may have 4, 5, 6, or 10 times the exp of one thats soley used for playing the game, but when it comes down to it, which one do you want in your party?
ill go with the non-farmer, thank you.

Actually it works in the other direction. We're closer to 0 than the two you mentioned, that puts us ahead.

I don't think the level 20 cap will ever be rasied in this current Guild Wars storyline.
One thing I would like them to implement instead of the higher levels is a title based on your XP. At least that way the XP you're earning actually means something within the game because, quite frankly, after gaining Lv.20 who actually bothers to check out their XP apart from at certain milestones like 1million, 2million and the like. Something like 'Master of Experience (5)' or similar.
For every 500,000XP you gain a new level within the title and for each level you gain +5HP and +1E.

the reason i chose gw over other games is because there is no lvl hate. in other games all ppl do is say that if u are lower lvl is that your a noob and dont even give u a chance

WoW is not an argument for or against something. Stop disgracing yourself by spouting out childish idiocy like "gb2wow".
Still the suggestion is rather silly and has been done to death. Consider Elite Skills your level and you suddenly have more levels than every other game. Consider KOABD and you'll have way more to do than in every other game.
